Developer friendliness - It is a given that Linux is developer-friendly.Accessing and processing data is much easier even with older hardware. That too with very little resources consumed as compared to windows. In my test, the Windows 10 USB created with WoeUSB can boot in both legacy and UEFI mode on my old computer. sudo woeusb -v -device windows-10.iso /dev/ sdb. The -v (-verbose) option will give more detailed output. Red texts shoudl be adapted to your own ISO file name and USB device name. Flexibility - Linux is highly flexible, in that you can run almost everything. Then create a bootable Windows 10 USB like below. ![]() If you are wrangling with large amounts of data, this is a definite advantage. Speed - Linux is lightning fast, which is why most of the fastest computers in the world use it.If you are a developer/data scientist, you probably are already using Linux for some of its many advantages like: Why then, would you need to use Linux Distro like Ubuntu? So they need off the shelf software and user interfaces for most purposes. Most people who use PCs are not developers. It has been consistently occupying more than 70 % of the PC Operating System market for several years (Source: Statista). Windows is by far the most widely used operating system in the world today.
